The San Miguel Beermen of the ASEAN Basketball League will honor their late coach Bobby Parks for the remainder of the season by adding a patch of his jersey number on their uniforms.
"For the rest of this season, @SanMigBeermen will wear (the) Number 22 patch on their uniforms as tribute to Coach Bobby Parks," shared San Miguel Corporation sports director Noli Eala in his Twitter account on Tuesday morning.
"#OurTime is for you," was how Eala ended his tweet.
Parks steered the Beermen to a runner-up finish during last year's ABL season. They lost to Indonesia in the deciding Game Three, falling to the Warriors 76-78.
The now Leo Austria-coached team currently sport a 9-3 record in the team standings. They will have the chance to inch closer to Indonesia (10-3) on the top of the leader board when they face the Singapore Slingers in their next home game this coming Saturday, April 6.
Parks' #22 jersey number was the one he used during his playing years in the Philippines' first play-for-pay league. He debuted as an import for San Miguel Beer in 1987 -- where he first won one of his seven Best Import citations.
