The fabled rivals first met at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on May 10, 1975 in a high scoring game won by Crispa 1398-133. The final match-up on October 9, 1983, was a blowout, with Crispa displaying their offensive might in a 111-96 rout.
On November 21, 1975, Toyota was named champ on a technicality. Crispa did'nt show up for Game 4 of their championship duel( Toyota has lead the series to 2-1). Crispa felt the the system for choosing referee's was faulty and sought to change it. The PBA declined the request, then slapped Crispa an P82,000 fine.
