SAN Miguel Beer tries to complete a title sweep over the Indonesia Warriors as the ABL finals series moves to the Mahaka Square in Jakarta for Game Three on Wednesday.

The Beermen won a tough series opener, 75-70, and wound up on top in an even tighter Game Two, 66-65.

Game Three starts at 7 p.m. in Jakarta (8 p.m., Manila time).

Indonesia tries to stop the Beermen and extend the series, although they could be playing Game Three without Filipino point guard Jerick Canada, who suffered a knee injury late in the last match.

If needed, Game Four will be played June 15 at the same venue and Game Five, if necessary, will be held in Manila on June 19.

“We have the momentum so we would want to finish the series early. But we know that a sweep will be difficult against the Warriors. We will just take it one play at a time,” said San Miguel Beer coach Leo Austria.

“It’s been a great series so far and it’s good for the league. But if we have a chance to finish it early, even in Indonesia, we will take advantage of the opportunity,” he added.

“It will be very unfortunate if they lose Jerick,”said Austria about his former Adamson University player. He is a very good defender and he was able to defend well against Banchero.”

Stanley Pringle is expected to take charge again for the Warriors, although he will need more scoring support if he will be tasked to run the plays.

The Fil-American guard led the Warriors in scoring in Game Two with 21 points.

“You know how explosive Pringle can get. We did a good job on him in Game One and that is the kind of defense we want against Pringle in Game Three. If we stop Pringle with our team defense, we have a good chance of winning,” he said.

Brian Williams, who scored 17 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in Game Three, will be leading the SMB charge with MVP Asi Taulava, Chris Banchero, shotblocking demon Justin Williams, Paolo Hubalde, Leo Avenido and Jeric Fortuna.

The Warriors pin their hopes on Steve Thomas, Chris Daniels, Pringle and Mario Wuysang.
