If you look at the list of MVPs, from '98 pababa, wala tayong duda sa mga yan, pero medyo '99 pataas may doubts tayo sa ilan at hindi mag-agree ang isa't-isa.. I'm sorry for SMB fans, Danny Seigle and Arwind Santos may be regarded as the Best PBA Players to Have Never Won an MVP Award.. i'm still hoping this is not the case, especially for Arwind..

Isn't it the players who knows best who should win the award? Lately kasi nahahaluan na ng politics ang MVP voting.. Arwind should have won 2 MVPs if not for that media vote.. Hindi ko talaga magets bakit ayaw nila sa kanya..

I agree dapat tlga mas malki ang quotient or
factor ng players than media (baka kc marami sa media bading kya mahilig

feroza wrote:selecting an MVP has always been tricky, even in the NBA. you can never rely on stats alone because there are basketball intangibles that don't show up in stats but you can never ignore the stats either because it's a player's proof of his value and hardwork.
why the media votes? I THINK, because they are the ones who cover the games, whether or not their favorite team is playing, day in and day out. if they are not experts at the beginning of their careers, no one is actually, they will be eventually as they go along covering the games. they see each games no matter what so they can compare the values of ever player more than those who do not watch every games.
now, one can argue that every member of the media who cast their votes has their own biases. of course! that's a no-brainer because in any contest where the votes of some people are taken into consideration to determine a winner is marred with biases. then again, as i have said above, you cannot take the stats alone in determining the MVP.
what is the possible solution? or possible solutions?i have no idea!
even if we put respected and experienced experts like ed picson, quinito henson, jaemark tordecilla and ronnie nathanielsz into the panel, they will still have their biases, no matter how little.
